Richard,
You keep saying that you haven't been active in the field for a
number of years. Things have changed in the networking arena and
there is much more emphasis on security & secure transfers. Within
the last 5 or so years Telnet & FTP have been replaced with SSH &
SFTP. The VMS & LInux systems I run now don't even have Telnet or FTP
turned on.
Please stop saying "If it was good enough in the past, it must be
good enough now".
