The Charon-VAX emulator's configuration had the following lines for
tape
load TQK50 MUA
set MUA container[0]="\\.\scsi4:0:6"
were changed to
load TQK50 MUA
set MUA container[0]="\\.\Tape0"
The latest HP SDLT drivers were installed and the whole system was
rebooted.
... may I have the log file please? ...
And it worked! This morning's backup job (Wednesday) took 2.5 hours
to a tape that already had 43 GB of data, the marker files took about
20 seconds to complete. Yesterday morning's job (Tuesday) with the
old configuration file took 4.3 hours to a tape with only 3 GB, the
marker files took 4 minutes and 19 minutes to complete.
I'm tempted to change the configuration file back for one night to
verify that this is the problem ... maybe next week.
By the by, changed from backup/fast to backup/image after set file/
nobackup to the database files - the databases have their own backup.
Still doing backup/journal/list/log, I'd rather too much info than not
enough.
Thanks for the advice and help.
