Correct. Snow Leopard has discarded all of what was left of Appletalk.
The VMS system can still talk LAT to the printer, but I suspect there
are no current printers who support LAT, so Apple wouldn't see a need to
pay whatever royalties for LAT support of printers.

The port scan revealed the printer was listening to 515 , 10000 and 10001
A telnet to 10001 didn't do much. I will have to try to see if it does
LPD. In teh short term, the macs can LPD to the VMS box which can then
LAT to the printer. But I am hoping to be fully weined from VMS by end
of year. So this widthdrawal of Appletalk is yet another hindrance to
this conversion.

Do I detect a *slight* hint of pride in NPMANAGE ? :-) :-) -) :-) :-)
