I ask this in all honesty: What is the relevance today of MVS (or
whatever its name is this week) ?
And does NSK have a future ? Won't it eventually morph into a Unix with
support for fault tolerant hardware ?
There are some other viable OS for niches: Vxworks for highly
specialised real time systems (aircraft etc), and *maybe* Symbian OS for
mobile phones, although its future is in question.
La Carly did get one of the "buzzword du jour" right in predicting that
enterprise was moving towards commodity.
And if HP is moving towards commodity, we all know what it means for
that IA64 contraption and VMS.
