Those rx2600 ship with very old firmware which looks and feels
different from current.
Just download the more recent firmware from the web.
I opted for the stepped approach, as it was not too much work and in
the background. The tar files were abotu 3mb each.

I opted to set up an FTP server on windoze box.
If I recall correctly the only trouble I had was in specifying the
target location.
When i initially missed a slash there, it took a while to figure that
out. No help.
