   That was my impression, too.  From what I read [1], it
seemed that some steps were needed.  I, too, fetched the
PF_CEVERMPE0226 and PF_CEVERMPE0229 kits, and used my normal
VMS (Alpha) FTP server.  Had to specify a full path (like
"/dka0/sms/rx2600/PF_CEVERMPE0226") to get things to work, but
otherwise it was happy.

      CAUTIONS:
      1 - If the currently installed firmware is older than
      E.02.10 then updating to MP firmware revision E.02.29
      requires updating to E.02.10 first.
      2 - Upgrades to MP firmware beyond E.02.26 will require
      updating to MP firmware revision E.02.26 first.


   After getting to "MP E.02.29", it's possible to do
everything from a CD.  The latest kit I found was
PF_CPEAKSYS0231B.iso, which left me at:
