I've been reading your recent posts about Mac (and OS X, and your local
Mac "guru") with much amusement recently. I've actually used Ubuntu
(and other Linux distributions), FreeBSD, AND OS X, and I can tell you
that I've never had a problem with connecting with my own secure
wireless network using OS X - it "just worked" (as opposed to Ubuntu,
where I ran into many issues, and needed to consult the Ubuntu fora
*many times* before I was finally able to connect reliably), and as
opposed to FreeBSD V6.1, which was even more of a pain (with
considerably less helpful folks - RTFM must be a religious chant to
them). So your experience is not like mine (and, I suspect, not like
many others').

Then again, I could talk (or scream) about Vista/XP, which decided not
to see my wireless network, because SSID is not broadcast. When I
finally found out that M$oft considers "non-broadcastable" SSID a
security issue, and specifically designed Vista/XP to ignore SSID that
were not broadcast, I had to restrain myself from uncontrollable
laughter! Imagine M$oft trying to teach folks about security!

Then Downadup/Cornficker appeared a few weeks later...
