Brad, I picked up a Toshiba Satellite 17" recently for a steal due to
a liquidation sale. I wiped the commercially available virus instal-
ed on it and installed Ubuntu 8.10. I needed to use the ndisdriver to
get wireless working.

My 5.1 USB audio processor (which has a digital optical) worked just
fine on my old Compaq Evo N610c running 8.10 but for some reason, and
with the same image, this device will not work on the Satellite. I'm
getting to the level of ultimate frustration. I need it to broadcast
live events.

Other than that gripe, I've not had too much to complain about. I've
installed Ubuntu now (since 6.??) on several dozen systems. I've be-
come quite familiar with most of the usual problematic quirks needing
special attention.

That's FN histerical. Only M$.
