[Info-vax] Does anyone know how to connect a NAS system to OVMS??

smbclient exists for some versions of Samba - Linux yes, Solaris, no.
Samba doesn't exist for OpenVMS 7.3
Advanced Server, to the best of my recollection, has never provided
for an SMB client for VMS.  Please don't confuse Advanced Server with
TCP/IP Services - it does not depend on which stack or version.  No
version has provided client functionality (hence the name Advanced
*SERVER*).

Using the NFS client on VMS may possibly also give you some grief with
the NAS device.  Certainly, not all products that claim to be NAS do
NFS, and even if it does NFS, prepare yourself with some fun with UID/
GID mappings.  You may or may not (and likely not) have ACL support.

The original poster never said what brand of NAS or exactly what level
of functionality he wanted.  Without hacks (such as Glenn Everharts's
pseudo-disk driver) there's no way it's just going to look like
another VMS disk drive.
