Well, the underlying relational database used by default on OpenVMS is
now owned by Oracle, so you can expect it to stop being free any
second now. On "other platforms" MySQL uses an indexed file system
which is far less robust than RMS. I'm actually kind of shocked that
the VMS version of MySQL didn't get ported to use RMS indexed files
directly, but some would think that meant they could use it like
PowerHouse which would be far from true.
