[Info-vax] Device numbering in a "Pizza Box"

Hello,

can someone enlighten me about the devices in a small storageworks rack
(BA364)? I had to replace one of the drives. The old one was DKB200:, the
new one appeard as DKB1500:. I removed the latter and replaced it with a
different one just out of curiosity. This time the new drive didn't show up,
so I exchanged the position with DKB300:, first by replacing the new drive
with the one on DKB300:, then putting both disks in.

Now I realize that they both appear as DKB300:, that is, they only work
if the other one is not present :-(

I did a "IO AUTOCONFIGURE" in SYSMAN after each change. But how do I convince
this box or OpenVMS 7.3-2 that only one disk should be DKB300: and the other
one something different?
