Consider a purely theoretical and speculative concept of HP Sales and
Marketing taking over the customer communications responsability. (What
a dramatic concept !).  They would then be able to talk to customers
without the VMS management being involved.

Not sure one can blame VMS management anymore.

We all know how well HP Sales and Marketing has promoted VMS since it
got hold of it in May 2002.  We can only expect the same level of
promotion whenever HP Sales/Marketing is in touch with customers.
