Sad in a way. I worked for 3com back in the mid 90's in Hemel, uk and a 
very good people oriented company. They worked hard and played hard and 
even the line managers came to the pub on Friday with the team for 
lunch. I bought one of their lan modems later and had a problem with a 
flash upgrade that made it unusable at one point. They sent me the later 
dual modem version at no charge and it's still powered up and ready now, 
though only used as backup for cable.

All their stuff just works and seems to stay working. Let's hope HP 
don't wreck it...
