Time of day and day of week, maybe. But year? I doubt it.

Same thing.

Actually, it was the fact that the majority, at least all of those that
really mattered, had known about and taken care of the problem long
before it became a problem. Which didn't prevent the hype.

Good example. Either case could be right. I have spent 60 years exposed
to that sun, most of it before they started "warning" me about it and the
after, but I don't really believe everything that is handed top me by a
"scientist" who has a financial interet in what he reports. No cancer
here. My father, who spent even more time exposed to that same sun had
a few small melanomas removed. Effectsz of the sun? Sorry, no, they
were attributed to his work as a welder. A few minutes exposed tot he
UV from an arc welder is greater exposure than what he got from the sun
in his entire life.

There is much more hype in our lives today than fact. Hype sells products,
facts do not.

Yeah, more time, effort and money has been wasted on that already than
if there actually had been a pandemic. But I am sure there are people
profiting nicely from all this.
