The older Proliants were built like a tank and the documentation and 
software support is arguably the best in the business. All free to 
download from the compaq (oops, sorry), hp website, without registration
as well. The shear volume of stuff almost beggars belief. The ftp site 
even has softpaqs for the original Deskpro 386, should you really need it.

I have a couple of ML350,s in the rack here and they are the closest 
i've seen to the old style dec quality of construction...
