Could have, but didn't. Reminds me when Olivetti designed a new
typewriter by designing the case first (my grey hair showing).
And there are still Compaq systems on the shelf in addition to
HP systems, so HP is still gettting the increased shelf space
of selling under two names.
Maybe they should bring back |d|i|g|t|a|l| and increase their shelf
presence a little bit more. I can remember the one time I went into
a store and saw DEC PCs on a shelf, not longer after they had gone
through a short period when it seemed that all DEC PCs were rebranded
Tandys (but I think at the time all the laptops were actaully
rebranded Olivettis).
