That could turn out to be quite a project!  I'm inclined to suspect that
it might have to be done as multiple upgrades 5.4 to 5.5-2 to 6.0, 6.1, 
6.2, 7.0. . . .

It's usually far better to be running the current release or something 
reasonably close.  Old farts like me have forgotten V5.5-2 and the not 
so old farts never knew it in the first place.
