I'm far into the 21st century, thank you.  There's simply no reason to
put anything but ASCII in an ASCII newsgroup.  If you want to download
your usenet alt.sex.binary.perversion-of-the-moment's binaries, you are
more than welcome to use a newsreader on some other platform but don't
force that requirement on me for basic ASCII.  

Also, I don't know if you've noticed but the newsgroup IS comp.os.VMS!
