No, Indians enrolled at Oxford. I spoke to one by telephone. The only
clue to his ethnicity was his name.

Hearing aids might help! I have one in each ear. If that's your
problem the only alternative is to ask people to "Shout it in my ear!"
Been there, done that!
See a good audiologist! There's an excellent chance that that is your
problem and the hearing test will tell you. Yes hearing aids are
expensive but well worth it if you need them! Have you, by any chance,
been exposed to loud noises? Were you in the Armed Services? Perhaps
as a "radio operator"? ;-) If so, the government *might* pick up part
or all of the cost.
