I recall a DECUS symposium in the late 1980s or early 90's at which a 
customer pointed out the price differential between DEC and third party 
equivalents and asked "When is DEC going to roll up its sleeves and 
compete?"  His question was ruled "out of order".  The audience thought 
it was a damned good question!

History seems to confirm that!!
