CY,

the primary page and swap files are being opened and initialized for
use by SYSINIT early during boot. When you boot the system, are there
any error messages on the OPA0: console from SYSINIT ?

You could also try booting with >>> B -fl 0,30000 this will generate
debug output and you should see the %SYSINIT messages regarding
PAGEFILE.SYS - you need to capture the console output via the serial
line and some terminal emulator.
