That is a matter of definition.

 From the user/app perspective Linux is Unix.

 From the kernel perspective Linux is not Unix.

I asked Bill whether we should consider Linux to be Unix
and he said no, so that was the assumption.

Sure.

But the top500 is dominated by Linux today.

The latest has 446 out of 500 being Linux (and no MacOS X).
