   Bull.

The $800 "toilet seat" was a one piece bulkhead, toilet seat, and walls
to be installed in a section of the toilet compartment.

Everything in aviation cost more than outside of aviation because of
the mandatory levels of testing and paper trails. (If breakage or
overweight construction of that bulkhead could contribute to the
loss of the aircraft, the military or FAA wants to know about it. If
not, then they want proof it can't.)

In aviation circles, $800 for such a part is a reasonable price, even
if you're going to make a couple thousand of them for a line of
   commercial aircraft.
