The first few times I tried installing and configuring TCP/IP for VMS 
were a nightmare.  The documentation was sparse and had a strained 
relationship with the actual software.  (Keep in mind that this was more 
than twenty years ago!)

By the time I retired, you could RTFM, do as you were told, and have a 
working installation!
