At some point I suspect that too.
The VAXstation's SCSI outlets with the wrong (male) gender comes to mind.
In contrast to the classical CN50 connectors it's relatively easy
to ruin one (or more) of those HD pins. If that happens with a SCSI cable
it's relatively cheap to get a no-name replacement.
If it happens with VS's SCSI, you'd have to call field service and/or
get a replacement/repair of the entire SCSI part,
which certainly results in more income for DEC.
