I few years ago, I contacted Mr Cathey/Cathay about providing on-line
kits for hobbyists.  His answer was basically "don't rock the boat"
because he had made some communicatiosn about that and didn't want
people to force the issue.

I suspect the same would apply to patch access.  Have you checked the
forum so in the hobbyist web site to see if there are such discussions
and a message from Mr Cathey/Cathay about the issue ?
