Shocking. I guess North American companies will always turn a blind
eye toward human rights provided those companies can save a buck.

Comment: I saw an interview last night on Charlie Rose where the
speaker was comparing "Market capitalism" (where the CEO is only
concerned with one market: the share price on the stock market) vs.
other forms like "Caretaker capitalism" (where the CEO is concerned
with the interests of shareholders as well as stake holders
(employees, customers, community).

Think about it: If you compare "Authoritarian Capitalistic" economies
(like China) with "Market Capitalistic" economies (USA/Canada) it
would appear that "Authoritarian Capitalistic" are superior. No one is
suggesting that we move to a Chinese form of government or economy.
But I think that we could move to a gentler form of capitalism
(perhaps call it "Democratic Capitalism")
