The whole job description reads as if they're just desperately
trying to prevent it from slipping away. The leadership
clearly is at IBM and Oracle, that's what they explicitly concede.

The posting wasn't specific to VMS but to BCS in general.
And it's a part time job only, at least in my understanding.
Hardly an overwhelming commitment to regain leadership.
