Dear OpenVMS/Java reader,

If you are interested with, here is at
http://vouters.dyndns.org/tima/OpenVMS-Java-Unix-CRTL_API_decc$translate_name-Java_solution.html
an OpenVMS/Java solution to turn any ODS-2/ODS-5 filename into its
Unix filename counterpart. As stated in this Web document, it is
mainly aimed at those porting Unix Java code onto OpenVMS.

Depending on my courage, I may translate this code into C++. Provided
I do it, this will mainly be to ease the work of the FileZilla
developer. As for now, the FileZilla developer made great progresses.
However his solution is currently only limited to FTP transfers and
does not apply to SFTP transfers. My FileZilla document at
http://vouters.dyndns.org/tima/Linux-Windows-Filezilla-Dealing_with_VMS_filenames_when_transferring_to_Linux_or_Windows.html
in its OBSERVATIONS section gives the FileZilla developer a strong
excuse and backups him for not performing well.

Yours truly,
Philippe
