Why is the TCP/IP Services version relevant?

Yes, it shows up as such in there. (Registered as "GHA:", like
above.)

The firmware I use is V7.3-1.

Time to upgrade the firmware...?

By the way, here's my SRM output:
-----------------------[begin]-----------------------
[...]
bus 0, slot 14 -- vga -- Radeon 7500 PCI

[...]

AlphaServer DS10 466 MHz Console V7.3-1, Feb 27 2007 13:17:58

How do you mean, that it'd help for you if I described the noise
patterns...?

That's an extensive DECW$PRIVATE_SERVER_SETUP.COM procedure there.
(Even though a fragment, by the looks of it.)

How about: it works in an rx2620 and it's also properly recognized in
a DS10 within the SRM environment, but not in a DS10 under VMS. The
card doesn't have a Compaq/DEC part number (I'm not a millionaire,
capable of spending US $ 800+ on a 10+ year-old re-badged video card).

So, you'll be looking at a non-"Mobility" type, 64 Mbyte, Radeon 7500
PCI model, with passive cooling ribs, a green PCB and a red "ATi" logo
on it.

I did recently discover the following:
-----------------------[begin]-----------------------
%LICENSE-W-NOINC, INCLUDE list must specify exactly one node for
OPENVMS-ALPHA to be loaded

[...]

%LICENSE-E-NOAUTH, DEC OPENVMS-ALPHA use is not authorized on this node
-LICENSE-F-NOLICENSE, no license is active for this software product
-LICENSE-I-SYSMGR, please see your system manager
------------------------[end]------------------------

This seems unrelated, because I had the licenses registered the same
way as with the ELSA GLoria Synergy card and the DECW$STARTLOGIN came
up normally with out any problems. To be sure, I reregistered some
Alpha PAKs.

In the meantime, I got an image out of the Radeon 7500, but when I
try to actually log in, it doesn't bring me anywhere and returns me
to the login/'greeter' screen. So, that's why I think the license
issue might be related after all.
