EXCUSE ME! I didn't tell this customer to use a terminal emulator! The
product calls the same SMG routines on OpenVMS Itanium and Alpha, and it
produces the same output on all of the terminals and emulators I have in
use. Someone else in this thread reported that they dumped Powerterm in
favor of another emulator because of issues with it. But you failed to
read that, eh? Back a few years, a somewhat similar situation occurred
at one of the major pharmas. They were running Reflections. Turned out
to be that they set terminal device type to VT400 in their LOGIN.COM and
SMG produced an escape sequence that Reflections did not handle properly.
I suppose that if I had a WEENDOZE box here that would have fixed it???
I've not gotten all the details from this customer yet. There's been a
day or more turnaround in the question and answer phase but I'll bet it
is a very similar situation. So, since you're such a better and decent
consultant because you use WEENDOZE, why don't you save me all this time
and headache and tell me what it is?
I work on VMS, Mac and Linux. This product in question works with them
too. It's only the WEENDOZE factor that is the issue here. Personally,
I asked where to get my hands on this Powerterm thing should push come
to shove. All I get is WEENDOZE shoved up my ass by you and Gunshannon.
WTF? You two can be such assholes.
Sometimes, I need a killfile; sometimes, I just need to kill.
