I did a lot of further digging and found that
MSimpleProgramTarget(program) is being put in by
error from imake. The error messages from make are rather cryptic.
Unexpected end of line is the key that really should say "Don't know
what this is".
I find that there are no linux systems that work correctly along with
Solaris 8 and 10.
Seems that the UNIX community has lost along the way the documentation
on how they wrote
the templates and definition files. Even wikipedia can't find the docs.
It was a good concept, but nothing was passed on from the originator it
seems.
