[Info-vax] [DECnet-Plus] NETPROXY

You might know, that DN4 uses NETPROXY for storing the proxy information
while DN5 uses NET$PROXY (and NETPROXY).

Now consider DN5/DNVOSI/DPLUS

If you UAF> CREATE/PROXY both database files are created.

If you upgrade from DN4 to DN5, a NETPROXY is already there and will
be used. (It is also there "to maintain compatibility with other systems"
as seen in HELP MODIFY/PROXY)

New entries (ADD/PROXY) go to NET$PROXY (and can be removed from there).

Old entries in NETPROXY can be seen (SHOW/PROXY/OLD) but not deleted
(there is no REMOVE/PROXY/OLD in AUTHORIZE)?

To get rid of an old entry in NETPROXY, is now the only supported way
to delete NETPROXY (and recreate it empty) and readd remaining entries
to NET$PROXY database?

Or what have I missed - some decades ago
(like entries in NETPROXY are always ignored now ;-)

TIA

-EPLAN

PS: I don't the entries of NET$PROXY in NETPROXY, so I don't see how
these "compatibility" is working (iff it works at all).
