It relies on the (false) assumption that most
programs are highly parallelizable and conventional
compilers would be just too stupid to see this.
In fact most programs (with the possible exception of
benchmarks such as Linpack) aren't parallelizable
much beyond the degree a RISC CPU/compiler exploits anyway.
In addition, an EPIC compiler has to be omnicscient
and clairvoyant.
