[Info-vax] Looking for NOTES (or a solution to a problem with it)

Hi,

I have a SimH VAX emulator running as a 24/7 machine on HECnet and I'd
like to add DEC-NOTES to it.

It's in the freewarev70 archive available at:

http://www.digiater.nl/openvms/freeware/v70/notes/

I FTP'd that down to my VAX emulator no problem but I couldn't get it
to install using VMSINSTAL

If I issue:

@SYS$UPDATE:VMSINSTAL * USERS:[MARK.NOTES]

I get (after a few questions):

       Beginning installation of NOTES_CSC V2.5 at 09:19

%VMSINSTAL-I-RESTORE, Restoring product save set A ...
%BACKUP-F-NOTSAVESET, USERS:[MARK.NOTES]NOTES_CSC025.A;1 is not a
BACKUP save set
%VMSINSTAL-E-NOSAVESET, Save set A cannot be restored.

       VMSINSTAL procedure done at 09:19

and it stops.

A friend on HECnet suggested I try this:

(Under "Fix" file attributes of VMS BACKUP savesets ) :
http://www.stanq.com/downloads.html

But that didn't work either, the supplied .COM file returns:

$ @reset_backup_saveset_attributes  USERS:[MARK.NOTES]NOTES_CSC025.A
Unexpected block size
Error

I'm stumped. Either the saveset is corrupt or we're doing something
wrong?

I found a place to download the individual Kits from in .ZIP at one
time but forgot where it was. Any ideas?

Incidentally, would you usually install the CSC or ECO1 kit? I have no
clue what either one is...
