HP's BCS has been on auto pilot without any agressive moves. Heck, they
didn' even do benchmarks for the current IA64 chip. (or was it the
previous one ?)

In such a mode, they are very vulnerable to attacks from Oracle and IBM.
Heck, Apotheker never mentioned BCS in his strategy document. It was an
easy target for Oracle. Very easy.

When the best Livermore could come up with was "we are committed to
supporting our existing customers", what message does that send to the
existing customer base ? Do you hear Microsoft saying they don't want
to steal customers from Linux or Apple and they are happy with their
customer base that is being eroded by Apple and Linux ?

June 25 2001. Need I say more ?

Sure, Poulson will come out. But will its performance be so humbug
compared to whatever 8086 will be available at that time that HP will
again not bother doing benchmarks ?
