You're not sure what you saw, but you're convinced nonetheless...?

Not if managers are constantly told that 'Oracle [RDBMS] is the best
out there,' then you'll basically get the same situation as with MS:
A de facto monopoly which by sheer frequency and familiarity thereof
is somehow justified.

If anything should've given anyone a good 'bite' as of late, it are all
the SQL injection hacks as of late (where in nearly all cases MySQL
seemed to have been involved).  You can blame it on 'bad' CMS and web
design, but it still stands out and we all know how 'managers' all too
often tend to look at things.

How is that when they can basically pull the plug on the license of
MySQL whenever they wish to do so?

Will it truly, with the prospects of losing the Hobbyist Program?  (If
Oracle should indeed come to own VMS... I hope not!)
