Note that you won't be able to initialize the system disk.
But you shutdown most of the system applications. (or boot STARTUP_P1 =
"MIN" ) and then:
$INSTALL PURGE
This deinstalls all files.
Then:
$DELETE/ERASE DKA100:[000000...]*.*;*
Note that you may need to re-install some files for the DELETE to work.
This may not be as good as a DOD erase, but it still overwrites the data
on the disk with a system pattern.
Some of the files will remain because they were opened and could'y e
deleted.
At this point, you can't even perform a proper shutdown.
Another way to zap the system disk if it is DSSI is to use the console
>>> commands. (use Mr Google to find the exact incantation of the
command to connect to drives) and once connected to the drive, there is
a command to do a low level format of the drive. This can be done when
the system isn't booted, so the system disk is unsused at that time.
