[Info-vax] TCP/IP problem with Alpha VMS 8.4

I recently upgraded my hobbyist Alphaserver DS20 from 7.3-2 to 8.4. I
also applied patch 5. I also have an iMac G5. Both are connected to a
5 port network switch along with an HP printserver with 2 printers
connected.

When I run the 7.3-2 system both computers can ping each other and the
printserver. Both can also print to both printers.
However, when I run the 8.4 system both computers can ping each other
but only the iMac can ping the printserver. When the 8.4 system pings
the printserver it times out.

When I installed 8.4 I checkedd the TCP/IP configuration and it was as
it should be. I also ran the IVP test but it failed to complete.

I even populated the ARP tables with entries for the printserver and
the iMac. Pinging the printserver still times out.

Any suggestions would be most welcome.
