Some people seem to prefer the concept of ZIPing anything that is going to travel over any 
non-VMS system to insure the integrity of the data.  While I can understand their 
preference, I normally move BACKUP save_sets and other data without using ZIP.  Not a 
problem, if you understand what you're doing.

Another issue is when someone un-ZIPs a ZIP archive created on VMS, with VMS file 
characteristics saved, on another OS and then tries to use the data.  Again, have to have 
some clue as to what you're doing ....
