Yeah, I don't want to, but I'm starting to think in that direction. I've got 2 battery
backup units in that room, and I changed the VAXstation from the one it was using to the
other unit to see if that might help. Now, I won't rule out the battery backup unit, but
I'll need to be sure something else is on it to check it.
Once had an AlphaStation 200 with intermitant problems. When we took the cover off the
power supply, we saw that the wire going to one of the spades where the power came in ...
just wasn't soldered. After the obligatory words about manufacturing quality control, a
dab of solder and it was fine. So I'm aware there can be weird shit, but this computer
has been running for years with no problems. I wouldn't expect a loose wire. The power
supply could be failing ...
No graphics, serial console ..
