But that is simply not true.
Why do you write something you *know* isn't true?

Neither WMV or MSS2 are something HP-internal.

MSS2 is not supported by VLC "out of the box", but there are
third part codex for VLC that does. MPlayer, as an alternative,
does support MSS2 directly, it seems.
