Um, yes.  About that...

I dug around (some), and found zilch on rotatelogs related to OpenVMS.  
Well, zilch beyond that embarassingly-worded /fixed rotatelogs bug/ 
one-liner.

Which leaves three approaches.  The first is digging through the Apache 
logs to see if there are any errors logged that might provide some 
insight into where this is going off the rails.  There's the approach 
of digging through the Apache source code looking for whatever happened 
with the rotatelogs source code and related baggage and whether there 
are any related comments in the source code; reverse-engineering the 
one-liner comment.  And there's the third and usual approach of calling 
up HP support, and letting them sort this out.  Or maybe there are more 
approaches than just three.  The fourth would be testing without the 
pipe.

It'd be nice to see this documented if/when there's a newer Apache port 
available, and maybe a call to the support center might cause that to 
happen.
