Patrick Beesley says it best in his book "Very Special Intelligence -
Admiralty's Operational Centre, 1939-1945", one of the best books ever
written. In it he details how the RN "pinched" an Enigma from the
Germans and how annoyed the Admiralty were when the Americans got in on
the act.
