I'll add that I could see the motivation for using
COMPARISON time: that would allow one to sort the
output based on the time.

But as others have said, it's a bit difficult to 
see how DELTA time helps you, especially when you 
already have the /SINCE and /BEFORE qualifiers to
DIRECTORY.

That said, there used to be a program called
DIRBYDATE, IIRC, which did allow displaying the
output based on COMPARISON time.  Google is your
friend; I'm sure it's still available on one or
another freeware site (perhaps even one of the
VMS Freeware CDs).  That program suffers from not
supporting a variety of (useful) DIRECTORY 
qualifiers, etc., especially newer ones...
