I'll admit that using C RTL I/O functions is easier than
using QIO. I'll admit that any Web server which is ported to
VMS from another environment (like, say, Apache) is unlikely
to be using QIO.
In case you missed it completely (which seems to be tha
case), my point was that the C RTL handles some file record
formats better than others. (I even provided some evidence
for that fact.) Given that a typical Web server will not be
using QIO to read a file, it would seem (to me, at least) to
follow that some file record formats will cause less trouble
than others. Is there something confusing here?
