If I'm not wrong, it is the *school* that applies for EDU licenses.

If you'd like to do it personaly, it is the *hobbyist* licences
you can apply for. And that has nothing to do with you beeing
a student or not. It's over 30 years since i was a student and I
have no problem applying for hobbyist licenses. :-)
