Sorry but I beg to differ. Alpha was the superior technology 10-years ago, but it came at a time when there where no techies running Compaq or HP. HPQ killed it and (I believe) Intel, IBM and SUN secretly breathed a sign of relief. Anyway, the folding-at-home stats between 1999 and 2002 are my proof. Those real-world science specs were worth more than any benchmark.
