In Unix-land, which is what OS-X basically is, the convention is just to
send the file as a stream of bytes without any internal conversion.
Given all the various possible internal file structures for VMS sequential
files, this is not possible on VMS if you want the file to be usable on
the destination (non-VMS) system.

It also fails with my login.com which is about 3 to 4 blocks in size.
