Right. The sockets concept comes from Berkeley. But Berkeley started 
patching Unix long before anything like TCP/IP had even been invented.

Thinks like csh, vi, and a bunch of other things came out of Berkeley. 
Some of it is arguably probably best forgotten.

All of this should be on the internet, if you just search for it.

Unix was not first with TCP/IP, and Berkeley did not invent the 
protocols, just BSD Socket paradigm that many now implement.

He was part of the decision makers that funded the whole thing for 
while, if I remember right.
Exactly how much should probably be looked up, if we really want to 
continue talking about him.
